Bence Marafkó

Bio: Born in Pécs, 1974; lives and works in Budapest.
Profil: Artist, designer.
Card: „In the past ten years my artistic activity was determined by a specific system of forms based on curves creating constantly expanding series. These series demand not only spatial extension but also the more powerful manifestation of plastic qualities, become significant in the increasing material density or by the banding of planar surface. This spatial extension is also stressed by the thickness and facture of the painted surface and by the intensity and interaction of colours. The proper definition of my paintings could be: colour field painting with specific plastic quality.” (On my pictures; B55 Gallery/Budapest, 2007 – detail)
